When the Eucharistic Prayer reaches its great acclamation, a choir needs a piece that lifts the entire congregation into the moment. "Nso" is an Igbo setting of the Sanctus that does exactly that. Marked to be sung "Rather Fast but Majestic," it brings an immediate sense of joyful urgency to the Mass.

The piece opens with a bright, rhythmic declaration of "Nso, Nso, Nso eyio," adding a natural, celebratory exclamation to the traditional "Holy, Holy, Holy." As the choir moves into the text praising the Lord God of hosts ("Osebụrụwa Chineke m o nke igwe ndị agha"), the harmony stays tight and driving. The composer uses the Anambra dialect ("n'enu" instead of "n'elu"), giving the words a familiar, localized warmth that resonates beautifully in Nigerian parishes.

What makes this arrangement especially engaging is the final Hosanna section. After blessing the one who comes in the name of the Lord, the voices break into a cascading series of "Hosanna" repeats, building up to a triumphant "Eh! n'enu kasị enu!" It is a wonderful choice for festive Sunday Masses, keeping the energy high and the focus entirely on the glory of the altar.
