SANCTUS, SANCTUS. by Nduka-aku — Lyrics
About SANCTUS, SANCTUS.
This is a bright, rhythmic setting of the "Sanctus" (Holy, Holy, Holy) composed by Nduka-aku. Written entirely in tonic sol-fa, it brings a lively choral energy to the traditional Latin text of the Mass.
Choirs sing this piece during the Eucharistic Prayer, right after the Preface. The repeated, joyful "Sanctus" calls and the driving "Hosanna in excelsis" make it an uplifting acclamation that invites the congregation into the heavenly liturgy.
The arrangement uses layered vocal entries and a steady, marching tempo—marked Allegretto—to build a sense of majesty. The familiar Latin words are carried on a melody that feels both reverent and celebratory, perfectly capturing the awe of the moment before the consecration.
