NSO

"NSO" is a vibrant and deeply reverent setting of the Sanctus, composed for the Catholic Mass. Sung entirely in Igbo, the piece opens with a striking a cappella introduction for the bass and tenor voices. This grounded, solemn start beautifully captures the awe of the heavenly liturgy before the rest of the choir joins in to praise the Lord of hosts.

As the piece unfolds, the rhythm picks up with the repeated, earnest calls of "Nsọ eh, Chineke m" (Holy, my God). This builds a wonderful sense of momentum that carries the congregation right into the joyful "Hosanna" section. The melody is bright and accessible, making it a joy for the choir to sing while keeping the faithful engaged during the Eucharistic Prayer.

We love how this arrangement balances the solemnity of the "Holy, Holy, Holy" with the celebratory energy of the "Hosanna n'elu kacha elu." It is a fitting choice for Sunday Masses and feast days, bringing a warm, rhythmic choral sound to the loft.
