"Ekene Maria" is a vibrant and joyful Marian hymn composed by Rev. Dominic Igwe. Setting the traditional Hail Mary prayer to an energetic Igbo melody, the song is a staple for Catholic choirs during May and October devotions, Marian feast days, or as a lively Offertory piece. It captures the deep affection and reverence the congregation holds for the Blessed Virgin Mary, praising her as "Nwanyị ọma" (beautiful woman) and "ezigbo Nne" (good mother).

The arrangement is full of rhythmic life and choral color. It opens with a sweeping, reverent "Ave" before breaking into a bright, syncopated refrain. As the piece progresses, the choral texture becomes wonderfully complex. In the second verse, the sopranos hold a steady, repeating ostinato meditating on the fruit of Mary's womb ("bụ Nwa afọ gị Jesu"), while the tenors and basses weave a driving, polyphonic counter-melody underneath.
