About Beatus vir
Claudio Monteverdi's Beatus vir is a rich sacred motet for double choir, SSATTB. Its Latin text is drawn from Psalm 112, proclaiming the blessedness of the man who fears the Lord. The music opens with a joyous Alleluia, before unfolding the psalm's verses in a series of contrasting textures.
