ITORO ENYENE ABASI KENYONG

"Itoro Enyene Abasi Kenyong" is a vibrant Efik setting of the Gloria, composed by Sir Adejoh John. It translates the great angelic hymn of praise—"Glory to God in the highest"—into the rhythmic cadences of the Efik language, creating a piece that feels both solemn and deeply celebratory.

Sung during the introductory rites of the Mass, this arrangement is structured with a recurring refrain, allowing the congregation to easily join the choir in exalting God. The verses move through the traditional liturgical acclamations, blessing and adoring the Father, and pleading for the mercy of the Lamb of God.
