Alleluja. In exitu Israël de Aegypto, domus Jacob de populo barbaro,
facta est Judaea sanctificatio ejus; Israël potestas ejus.
Mare vidit, et fugit; Jordanis conversus est retrorsum.
Montes exsultaverunt ut arietes, et colles sicut agni ovium.

About In exitu
The Exodus of Israel from Egypt is a moment of profound liberation, vividly depicted in this motet setting of Psalm 113. Giovanni Bernardo Colombi portrays the dramatic parting of the Red Sea and the Jordan, the joyous leaping of mountains like rams, and the transformation of rock into water. The text moves from the miraculous parting of the waters to a declaration of God's sovereignty over all creation, culminating in a plea for glory to be given not to us, but to God's name. The SATTB voicing allows for rich harmonic textures as the choir proclaims this powerful narrative of divine intervention and faithfulness.
