This powerful motet by Cipriano de Rore is drawn from Psalm 126, a Canticum graduum sung on journeys to Jerusalem. The text speaks of God restoring the fortunes of Zion, turning sorrow into joy, and the recompense of those who sow in tears, who shall reap in exultation.
