The music opens with a sense of joyful affirmation, a mood that pervades this setting of the Easter Sequence. Arcadelt’s setting of the Latin text is for two choirs, SATB and ATTB, allowing for rich contrapuntal interplay and varied textural possibilities, from full eight-part sonorities to divided sections.
