Sung for Eastertide, Haec dies is a jubilant setting of a Latin text proclaiming the joy of the Lord's day. The SATB choir can luxuriate in the exultant opening "Haec est dies quam fecit Dominus" and the recurring "alleluia." The composer Samuel Webbe also provides verses drawn from psalms, suitable for the Octave of Easter, which expand the musical and textual scope of this vibrant sacred work.
