About Ecce nunc benedicite
For a choir of two sopranos and three tenors and basses, Amadio Freddi's Ecce nunc benedicite is a setting of a Latin liturgical text. The words, drawn from Psalm 134, speak of praising God at all times, especially during the night, and invoke a blessing from Zion on those who serve the Lord within His house. Freddi's rich five-part writing would be effective when sung in a sacred setting, perhaps during Vespers or another service where a gradual psalm is appropriate. This arrangement allows for a detailed and expressive delivery of the uplifting text.
