About Duo Seraphim
The text for Caterina Assandra's Duo Seraphim draws from Isaiah, depicting two seraphim crying out to one another, proclaiming "Holy is the Lord God of Sabaoth. The whole earth is full of his glory." It then expands to include the doctrine of the Trinity, "There are three who bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one." This SSA setting of the Latin text offers a powerful and rich expression of sacred praise. Assandra's work stands as a significant example of sacred motet composition, allowing the choir to explore profound theological themes through vibrant vocal textures.
