I Believe In God by Emmanuel Frank — Lyrics
About I Believe In God
When we sing the Creed during Mass, it can sometimes feel like a long recitation. This vibrant, call-and-response setting brings the profession of faith completely to life. Instead of simply reading the text, the cantor calls out each mystery—from the Mighty Father who created heaven and earth to the resurrection of Jesus Christ—and the choir and congregation answer with a resounding, rhythmic "Yes I do."
It is a brilliant way to keep the assembly actively involved in affirming what we believe. As the verses move through the incarnation, the crucifixion, and the Holy Spirit, the music keeps a steady, joyful momentum. By the time we reach the final verse, looking forward to the world to come, the repeated "Amens" and "Alleluias" feel like a true celebration of our Catholic faith. It is a favorite for Sunday Masses and feast days because it reminds us that our faith is something to be proclaimed with energy and joy.
