Cantate Domino, quoniam magnifice fecit;

About Cantate Domino
Gemignano Capilupi's Cantate Domino is a vibrant motet for double choir (SSAT.ATTB), drawing its text from the Book of Isaiah. The music opens with a jubilant call to sing to the Lord, setting a tone of exultation that permeates the work. The Latin text, traditionally used in sacred settings, speaks of God's magnificent deeds and the joy of those dwelling in Zion. Capilupi crafts a rich texture, with the two choirs interacting to amplify the message of praise and proclamation. This powerful setting of a well-known biblical passage would make a compelling centrepiece for a sacred choral programme.
