About Ave Maria
Gregory Hamilton sets the familiar Latin text of the Ave Maria for SATB choir. This sacred motet offers a devotional setting of the Marian antiphon, which forms the basis of the Hail Mary prayer. The text, opening with the angelic greeting, is presented in both Latin and English, allowing for flexibility in performance. Hamilton's composition provides a rich harmonic language suitable for liturgical use or concert programming. The SATB voicing allows for a full choral sound, enhancing the prayerful and reverent nature of the piece.
