About Ave Maria
The familiar Latin text of the Ave Maria is here set for SATB choir by Domenico Paone. The opening words, 'Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,' immediately evoke the Annunciation. This sacred motet offers a flowing melodic line and rich harmonies, suitable for liturgical settings or concert programmes. Paone’s setting captures the serene and reverent nature of the text, providing an opportunity for expressive singing from the choir. Its direct and heartfelt musical language makes it a compelling choice for choirs looking to expand their repertoire of Latin motets.
