ANIMA CHRISTI

Marco Frisina’s setting of 'Anima Christi' is a familiar and deeply moving piece for many Catholic choirs, often brought out during Communion or moments of quiet Adoration. The gentle, flowing melody of the chorus invites the congregation into a space of reverence, praying for sanctification and salvation through the Body and Blood of Christ.

The arrangement alternates between the four-part harmony of the refrain and the more intimate, pleading verses. When the sopranos lead lines like 'Passio Christi, conforta me' (Passion of Christ, strengthen me), it creates a quiet, personal moment before the full choir returns. It is a wonderful choice for Corpus Christi, Holy Thursday, or any Sunday Mass where the choir wants to foster a profound sense of Eucharistic devotion.
