Ojima Cheyi Ojo (Gloria - Igala)

"Ojima Cheyi Ojo" is a vibrant, rhythmic setting of the Gloria in the Igala language, composed by the well-known Nigerian liturgical musician Jude Nnam. As the great hymn of praise in the Mass, this piece captures the joyful exultation of the angels' song, inviting the entire congregation to lift their voices in thanksgiving.

In the choir loft, this Gloria is a delight to sing. The energetic refrain, "Ojima cheyi Ojo / Kida tate" (Glory to God in the highest), sets a celebratory tone that carries through the five verses. Nnam's arrangement uses the natural cadence of the Igala language to drive the melody forward, making it a perfect choice for festive Sunday Masses, solemnities, and major feast days.
