About L'unico figlio
This sacred motet by Giovanni Animuccia, set for SSB voices, would be particularly fitting for Christmas services. The Italian text reflects on the Incarnation: the unique Son of the Eternal Father, long-desired by kings and prophets, has come to dwell among us. The shepherds witnessed his birth in a humble manger, bringing peace and transforming sorrow into joy.
