Christian Patangu’s "Kyrie" offers a gentle and straightforward setting for the Penitential Rite. Written in a clear, accessible style, this piece allows the choir and congregation to center themselves early in the Mass, lifting up the traditional Greek plea for God's mercy.

The arrangement follows the classic threefold structure of the rite. It opens with the "Kyrie eleison," moves into the "Christe eleison" for the second verse, and, as noted in the score's instructions, returns to the opening "Kyrie" to close the prayer. Its simplicity makes it an excellent choice for regular Sunday worship, ensuring the focus remains entirely on the sincere petition for forgiveness and grace before entering the Liturgy of the Word.
