Jesu nostra redemptio

Jacobus Vaet's Jesu nostra redemptio is a sacred hymn for two voices, Soprano and Bass. The Latin text, a powerful plea for salvation, addresses Jesus as our redemption, our love and desire, the creator of all, and man at the end of time. It recounts Christ's suffering for our sins, his victory over death and hell, and his triumphant reign at the right hand of God. The voices engage in a devotional dialogue, reflecting the fervent supplication of the text. The music beautifully underscores the solemnity and hope found within these ancient words, seeking divine mercy and eternal joy in Christ.
