About Iesu rex admirabilis
This setting of a Latin text, Iesu rex admirabilis, would be most appropriate for a service in Ordinary Time or for a devotional occasion. Gregor Aichinger’s motet is written for SSAT voices and sets a text that praises Jesus as a wonderful king, noble victor, and ineffable sweetness, the one desired above all. The verses continue to implore Jesus to remain with us, to illuminate us with light, to dispel the darkness of the mind, and to fill the world with sweetness.
