Ianuari sanctissime

This SATTB motet, Ianuari sanctissime, is a powerful setting of a Latin text. It is suitable for occasions honouring martyrs, particularly those who, like Saint Januarius, shed their blood for Christ. The composer Scipione Dentice was a significant figure in late Renaissance Italian music, known for his keyboard works and motets.
