Ghy die kondt Israel regieren - psalm 79

This sacred four-part setting for ATTB voices offers a deeply devotional experience. The composer crafts a rich polyphonic texture where the independent lines of the voices create a flowing and intricate dialogue, evoking the solemnity of the text. The Dutch lyrics, drawn from Psalm 79, are a powerful plea to God, beseeching him to show his might and guidance. The music masterfully reflects the gravity of this petition, with moments of intense harmony and contrapuntal interest. It is a reflective work, suitable for liturgical settings where its profound musical and spiritual qualities can be fully appreciated.
