About Es ticu (Credo)
This setting of the Credo text in Latvian is presented for SATB choir. The text, originating from the Nicene Creed, proclaims fundamental Christian beliefs, beginning with faith in one God, the Father, Creator of all things visible and invisible. It continues with the divinity of Jesus Christ, born of God before all ages, light from light, true God from true God, begotten not made, and through whom all things were made. The Creed then recounts Christ's incarnation through the Holy Spirit from the Virgin Mary, his suffering, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and his promised return to judge. Gregorian chant forms the basis for this liturgical music, arranged here for four-part choir.
