About Ehre sei Gott dem Vater
This grand motet would be a powerful offering during a service of thanksgiving or praise. Philipp Dulichius sets a German text in praise of the Holy Trinity. The lyrics, which translate to 'Glory to God the Father, who created us; Glory to God the Son, who redeemed us; Glory to God the Holy Spirit, who has sanctified us; Glory to the Holy Trinity, from now until eternity. Amen,' are treated with rich, imitative polyphony. The voicing for double choir (SSATTBB) allows for majestic antiphonal effects and full, resonant textures, perfectly suited to proclaiming the glory of God.
