The lyrics draw on the biblical callings of Samuel and Isaiah, reminding the congregation that God has always chosen and purified His servants. The chorus, “Nna, gbaghara... sachapụm njọm nile doo mu nsọ” (Father, forgive... wash away all my sins and keep me holy), sets a tone of humble surrender.
