About Dominus Deus vester
Christian Hollander's motet Dominus Deus vester is an ideal choice for services focusing on God's justice and care for the vulnerable. Setting a passage from Deuteronomy, the text praises God as the supreme deity, powerful and awesome, who shows no favouritism and cares especially for the orphan and widow, providing for the stranger. The composer has written this motet for mixed voices, with options for both STTB and SATB choirs, allowing for flexibility in programming. Its Latin text and sacred character make it suitable for a wide range of liturgical occasions, offering a profound musical reflection on divine righteousness and compassion.
