Domine salvum fac Regem

Jacques Guislain Pamart composed this sacred motet for SSATB voices in Latin. The text is a prayer for the sovereign, asking God to preserve the king and hear the supplication of the faithful. The chant-like opening of the text is set in a style typical of motets, with the voices weaving together to create a rich texture. This piece is a fine example of the sacred choral tradition, offering a powerful musical setting for the solemn words.
