Maurizio Cazzati, a prominent composer of the Bolognese school, set the traditional Latin text for Vespers from his collection *Laudes Vespertinae*. The opening words, Deus, in adjutorium meum intende, traditionally begin the Divine Office. This setting is for two voices, AT, and is appropriate for services during the liturgical seasons of Septuagesima to Easter when the word Alleluia is replaced by Laus tibi Domine Rex aeternae gloriae.
