Deus pacis by Cipriano de Rore — Lyrics
Deus pacis qui reduxit a mortuis pastorem magnum
in sanguine testamenti aeterni, Dominum nostrum Jesum Christum,
aptet nos in omni bono ut faciamus ejus voluntatem,
faciens in nobis quod placeat coram se.

About Deus pacis
This Latin motet for TTTB voices, Deus pacis, is a profound setting of a sacred text. The words, drawn from scripture, speak of God as the source of peace, who through the blood of the everlasting covenant brought our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. The composer entreats God to equip us to do His will, making us pleasing in His sight. This rich polyphonic texture offers a chance for expressive musical depiction of the devotional text, suitable for services or concerts where a moving sacred work is desired.
