Dat motus incompositos

This Latin motet, Dat motus incompositos, by Jean de Castro, sets a text praising Dorion, a figure who can master unruly impulses through religion. The text suggests that while the muse pleases Lyda and an ungrateful Plato might be the subject of song, it is Dorion, whose name matches his deeds and who is a man of weighty piety, that deserves to be celebrated.
