Cum vocatus fueris ad nuptias

This sacred motet is suitable for a wedding feast, drawing on biblical teaching about humility. The Latin text advises guests to take a lower place so that they may be invited to sit higher, bringing glory in the eyes of fellow diners. The composer Cosimo Bottegari sets this passage for solo soprano and solo tenor. It is a work of devotional character, offering a reflective moment within a celebratory occasion.
