Confitebor tibi, Domine Rex

Ottavio Vernizzi's motet Confitebor tibi, Domine Rex is a rich setting of a text from the Book of Sirach. The composer powerfully expresses the psalmist's profound gratitude to God for deliverance. The Latin words speak of giving thanks to the Lord God, the Saviour, whose name is praised for becoming a helper and protector, freeing the singer from peril and deceitful tongues. Vernizzi crafts this with a demanding SATB.ATTB voicing, creating a resonant and sonorous texture. The piece offers a profound devotional experience, suitable for choirs seeking substantial sacred repertoire.
