About Christ ist erstanden
This SATB setting of the German Easter hymn Christ ist erstanden is by Armin Früh. The text, after the Easter sequence Victimae paschali laudes, rejoices in Christ's resurrection. The first verse proclaims that Christ has risen from all suffering, and that he will be our comfort, calling for Kyrieleis. The second verse affirms that had he not risen, the world would have perished; instead, we praise Christ the Lord. The final verse, with Alleluja, reiterates the joy of his resurrection and his role as our comforter. Früh's setting brings this powerful Easter message to life for mixed-voice choir.
