About Benediction
Charles West’s Benediction opens with a gentle, flowing choral texture, the voices weaving together to create a sense of calm and spiritual assurance. The SAATTBB voicing allows for rich harmonies and dynamic contrast as the music unfolds. Sung in English, the text draws from traditional liturgical sources, offering a profound message of peace, encouragement, and divine blessing. The composer crafts a musical setting that mirrors the text’s solemnity and hopeful spirit, building towards a powerful affirmation of God’s presence and eternal love. This work is ideal for services and concerts seeking to convey a message of spiritual guidance and steadfast faith.
