About Behold now give heed
This SATB setting of an English text by Thomas Ravenscroft is a motet of sacred character. It calls upon the faithful servants of the Lord to praise him with songs of gratitude and devotion. The text speaks of standing in God's house, praising his bounteous nature and the salvation he has granted. It encourages lifting hands in his holy place, acknowledging his grace and might, and concludes with the promise of God's blessing, mercy, and favour granted from Sion to those who serve him. This piece would be fitting for services of thanksgiving or general praise.
