About Beata es
This setting of a Marian text in Latin is ideal for services celebrating the Virgin Mary, particularly during Advent or feasts like the Annunciation or Assumption. The text, drawn from scripture and liturgical sources, speaks of Mary’s blessedness as the Mother of God and her faith in God’s word. It highlights her role as the one who carried the Creator of the world and remained eternally a virgin. The composer Alvise Grani sets this profound text for SSBB choir, creating a rich harmonic texture suitable for a contemplative and devotional atmosphere. The piece offers opportunities for expressive phrasing and dynamic contrast as it unfolds the sacred narrative.
