Ciro Grassi's Ave Regina coelorum is a lyrical setting for SSA voices of the familiar Marian votive antiphon. The composer crafts a flowing melodic line, with the three upper female voices weaving together in gentle, homophonic textures. The music reflects the text's gentle praise and invocation of Mary as Queen of Heaven, offering a serene and devotional atmosphere. This short motet would be an excellent addition to a service or concert programme, providing a moment of calm reflection and beautiful vocal blend. The clear, diatonic melody and straightforward harmonic language make it accessible for choirs of varying abilities. It is sung in Latin.
