About Ave Maria
Raphaël Terreau's Ave Maria is a sacred setting for SATB choir of the familiar Latin text. This Marian antiphon, traditionally sung or recited in honour of the Virgin Mary, begins with the Angelic salutation: "Full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb." The composer sets this text with clarity and devotion, offering a work suitable for liturgical use or concert performance. The SATB voicing allows for rich harmonic textures and expressive melodic lines, making it an accessible yet rewarding piece for mixed choirs.
