Signum magnum apparuit in caelo:

About Ave Maria
Jean Guyot sets the familiar Latin text of the Ave Maria for an impressive STTTB choir. The piece opens with the salutation to Mary, 'Hail Mary, full of grace,' before moving to the vision of the woman clothed with the sun and the moon, crowned with twelve stars, from Revelation 12. This sacred antiphon is treated with rich choral textures, exploring the profound imagery of the text as it progresses through Mary's role as the mother of Christ and her cry in travail.
