About Ascendit Deus
This jubilant motet celebrates Christ’s Ascension. Written for mixed-voice choir (SATB), it draws its text from Psalm 47 and is suitable for liturgical use on Ascension Day or at other important feasts. The Latin text, which praises God’s ascent in jubilation and his preparation of a heavenly throne, is supported by English and German translations, making it accessible for diverse choirs. Christoph Dalitz’s setting is rich and polyphonic, offering a majestic and sonorous expression of the sacred text.
