About Anna floret sicut lilium

This motet for double choir (SSTTB) is a setting of a Latin text in praise of Saint Anne. It describes her flourishing like a lily in the court of the heavenly king, having attained a royal throne with immortal glory. She is depicted as shining among matrons, illuminating the world like the sun, and as an olive of wondrous piety, a living root from which all good things have proceeded. The text implores Saint Anne, in her mercy, to bless us with her child, Mary. This devotional work would be fitting for services or concerts celebrating Marian feasts or saints' days.
