Afflicti pro peccatis nostris

A poignant setting of a penitential text, Afflicti pro peccatis nostris is suited for services of contrition or reflection, particularly during Lent. The composer Francesco Stivori crafts a devotional motet for SATTB choir, setting a Latin text that speaks of suffering for sins and the yearning for divine deliverance. The music reflects the sorrow and supplication of the words, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere for the singers and listeners. This piece offers a powerful expression of communal repentance and hope for salvation, making it a fitting choice for choirs seeking to explore the profound themes of spiritual anguish and trust in God's mercy within the sacred repertoire.
