About Aetas Carmen Melodiae
This anonymous motet for three voices (ATB) opens with a flowing, melismatic line in the highest voice, soon joined by the lower parts in imitative entries. The texture gradually thickens as the voices converge on rich, consonant harmonies, creating a sense of serene devotion. The Latin text, a hymn of praise, speaks of a new song for the Mass, sung with joy. It reflects on the honour due to the one who, through his Passion, pleased the Father of all grace. The music effectively captures the spiritual gravity and exultant character of the text, making it a fitting choice for a contemplative sacred offering.
