About Adoramus te Domine
This setting of the Latin text Adoramus te Domine, Jesu Christe is for SATB choir. Its words form a prayer of adoration and praise for Christ's redemption of the world through the Holy Cross, and celebrate his glorious resurrection. The text, a variant of the Good Friday antiphon, also asks for God's mercy and blessing, and for his face to shine upon us. The music is a sacred motet from a period when such settings were central to liturgical and devotional practice.
