[No. 1. Introduction and Chorus] Fear not, O land, be glad and rejoice; for the Lord will do great things. Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, the tree beareth her fruit, the figtree and the vine do yield their strength. Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God. For the Lord will do great things; be glad and rejoice, for the Lord will do great things. Fear not, O land, be glad and rejoice, be glad and rejoice in the Lord your God. [No. 2. Quartette] They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about His people. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. [No. 3. Solo and Chorus] Before Jehovah's awful throne, Ye nations, bow with sacred joy; Know that the Lord is God alone, He can create, and He destroy. His Sov'reign pow'r, without our aid, Made us of clay, and form'd us men; And when like wand'ring sheep we stray'd, He brought us to His fold again. We'll crowd Thy gates with thankful songs, High as the heav'ns our voices raise, And earth with her ten thousand tongues Shall fill Thy courts with sounding praise. Wide as the world is Thy command, Vast as eternity Thy love, Firm as a rock Thy truth shall stand, When rolling years shall cease to move. [No. 4. Solos] Praise waiteth for Thee, O God, in Zion: and unto Thee shall the vow be performed. O Thou that hearest pray'r, to Thee shall all flesh come. [No. 5. Chorus] O Thou that hearest prayer, to Thee shall all flesh come. [No. 6. Carol] Onward, ever onward! Raise the festal strain; For His tender mercies, Praise our God again; Praise the Hand which giveth All our precious store, Praise the love which shedeth Blessings evermore. Refrain Sing, oh sing His goodness! Praise, oh praise His Name! Love that aye endureth Evermore the same. Verse 2 All the changing seasons Join His Name to bless, Speak their Maker's praises Tell His faithfulness. Wheat in winter springing, Spring's returning flowers, Summer's glorious beauty, Autumn's harvest hours. Verse 3 Come with glad thanksgiving Of His goodness sing, Louder swell the anthem To our God and King. Let us join in praising Father, Spirit, Son; Trinity of mercy— Three, yet ever One! [No. 7. Symphony] (Instrumental) [No. 8. Solo and Duett] The eyes of all wait upon Thee; Thou givest them their meat in due season. Thou openest Thine hand, and all are filled with good. [No. 9. Duett and Chorus] Thou visitest the earth, and blessest it; Thou makest it very plenteous; Thou makest it soft with showers; Thou blessest the springing thereof. [No. 10. Solos and Chorus] The King of Love my Shepherd is, Whose goodness faileth never; I nothing lack if I am His And He is mine for ever. Where streams of living water flow, My ransom'd soul He leadeth, And where the verdant pastures grow, With food celestial feedeth. Perverse and foolish oft I stray'd, But yet in love He sought me, And on His shoulder gently laid, And home, rejoicing, brought me. In death's dark vale I fear no ill, With Thee, dear Lord, beside me, Thy rod and staff my comfort still, Thy Cross before to guide me. Thou spread'st a Table in my sight, Thy unction grace bestoweth, And O what transport of delight, From Thy pure chalice floweth. And so thro' all the length of days, Thy goodness faileth never, Good Shepherd may I sing Thy praise Within Thy house for ever. [No. 11. Chorus] Thou crownest the year with Thy goodness; and Thy paths drop fatness. They drop upon the dwellings of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side. The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys are thick with corn; they laugh and shout for joy.
