SOCHIMAOBIM

"Sochimaobim" (Only God Knows My Heart) is a profound Offertory hymn of thanksgiving and deep trust in God's providence. It reflects on how God provides, protects, and understands the deepest desires of the human heart, even when words fail. Composed for the All Hallows Choir at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University and dedicated to the Forum for the Inculturation of Liturgical Music (FILM) 2025, it is a grand, multi-section choral work that brings a powerful message of hope to the liturgy.

The piece shines during the Offertory procession, where the congregation brings their gifts and intentions to the altar. The verses recount personal testimonies of God's intervention—wiping away tears, providing what parents could not, and being a steady refuge in times of trouble.

Musically, the arrangement features expressive solos for different voice parts, contrasting beautifully with the full choir's joyful declarations.
