{PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL}

When we lead the congregation in the Prayer of the Faithful, our sung response needs to be an anchor—a clear, unified plea that carries the intentions of the whole church. This sheet gives us two distinct, reverent options for that exact moment in the Mass. They are short, as intercessory responses should be, but they carry a deep sense of earnest petition.

The first option is a direct and humble cry: "Oh Lord, grant our prayer, and show your mercy upon us, Lord." It is perfect for penitential seasons or Masses where the intercessions focus heavily on healing and grace. The second response, "Almighty Father, hear our prayer, we pray thee oh Lord, the Lord most high," feels a bit more solemn and expansive, lifting the congregation's gaze to the majesty of God.

Because these responses are repeated after every single intention, we have to sing them with consistent warmth and focus. They shouldn't feel rushed or mechanical. Even though the solfa is straightforward, the beauty comes from our blend and the sincerity we bring to the words. It is a simple but profound way we help the parish pray together.
