Bịa Mụọ Nsọ

"Bịa Mụọ Nsọ" is an earnest Igbo invocation to the Holy Spirit, composed by Ngozi Louis Ekezie. The piece serves beautifully during Pentecost Sunday or any Mass of the Holy Spirit, calling on the Third Person of the Trinity to descend and dwell in the hearts of the faithful. The choir leads the congregation in a gentle, pleading melody, asking for heavenly wisdom and guidance to fill the church.

The verses thoughtfully list the traditional gifts of the Holy Spirit—wisdom (amamihe), understanding (nghọta), counsel (alo), fortitude (ike), knowledge (ọmụma), piety (obi dị ọcha), and fear of the Lord (egwu nke Chukwu). Singing these gifts transforms the piece into a sung prayer of preparation. Attached to this score is a bright Gospel Acclamation by Ali-Okoro Onyinyechi C.M., providing a joyful "Halleluia" to welcome the reading of the Word.
